The first step in getting a strong first contract at Guthrie Lourdes is to build a negotiating committee. The committee will be responsible for developing ideas for our contract, bargaining with management, meeting with our co-workers on a consistent basis, and informing them of developments.

1199SEIU Guthrie Lourdes RNs Negotiating Committee Criteria:

1. Must have the time to give before, after and during work hours. (15min breaks and lunch breaks)

2. As a committee member you will be responsible for keeping your co-workers informed about what takes place in negotiations.

3. You don’t have to be an activist to be a committee member. You will need to have good listening skills that way you can explain to others.

4. You will also be responsible to hand out or collect literature and any other forms that need to be distributed to your co-workers.
